Defending the Neighbourhood Plan - Judicial Review Update

Residents will recall from our newsletter in February 2017 that we had applied to the High Court for a judicial review of certain planning decisions made by Arun District Council at the end of 2016, the effect of which had been to try and override our made Neighbourhood Plan.

The matter was initially scheduled for a hearing on 26 April 2017 but as a result of a mistake made by the Court office, not enough time was allowed for the matter to be heard properly, so the case was adjourned until 17 May 2017.

Since then, a decision has been handed down by the Supreme Court which has potential implications for our own case, and a further adjournment of the hearing has now been granted to allow us and the other parties to the judicial review action to consider these implications. The case has been adjourned to the first available date after 31 May 2017, and we are now waiting for confirmation of the revised hearing date.

We’ll provide a further update as soon as we have anything to report. In the meantime, please contact the Parish Council Office if you have any questions.
